The ÈÕ±¾ÎÞÂë Durham University Award covers a 3-12 month project for researching, lecturing or teaching in any research-active department at the university.

Durham University is a globally outstanding centre of teaching and research based in the historic city of Durham in the UK. Established in 1832 and founded on a tradition of scholarship dating back to the Middle Ages, we are the third oldest university in England. Our campus hosts a UNESCO World Heritage Site, centred around a 10th Century Norman Castle and Cathedral.ÌýÌý

We are a member of the Russell Group of leading research-intensive UK universities, and we are consistently ranked as a top 10 university in national league tables and top 100 globally (QS 2024). As a global university, 40% of our staff are from outside the UK and over 120 nationalities are represented in our academic community, including some 4,300 staff and over 20,000 students.ÌýÌý

We are a comprehensive university with 27 academic departments across four Faculties: Arts & Humanities, Durham Business School, Social Sciences & Health, and Science (incl. Engineering).  Ìý

Grant amount

£3,000 per month

This funding is intended as a contribution towards US-UK travel, institutional fees, accommodation, and general maintenance costs while in the UK.

$1500 stipendÌý

Dependent BenefitsÌý

Scholars accompanied by eligible dependents for the full duration of the programme may receive a one-time dependent allowance of $1800 for one dependent or $2500 for two or more dependents. This will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for any Scholars on a grant for less than 6 months.Ìý
